This year, our oldest uncle whom we call DaPek/DaJiu celebrated his 70th birthday. He has been the cornerstone to the Pang family since my dad was a little boy. He visits each sibling in the different continents, visits his in-laws’ family, goes back to China to visit our relatives, makes the effort to email all his siblings/ nephews/nieces of his travels and kept our family united. He has taught me what family really was and the extent you could go for your family has no boundaries. 🙂
Together with Hsulynn, we made a book called ’70 things we love about You’ and it has 70 accordion-fold pages with lil cute animals with the numbers. Each page is numbered and at the back of each page, everyone wrote a story/ a birthday message of how he has impacted their life.
100gm drawing blocks were great to use for pages because of their A3 size. I folded the pages in 2 and cut them into 7 x 7 inches.
Leave an extra 1/2″ inch of each page and boned that down. Attached each page together with double-sided tape.
My aunty wrote a page and it ended with : Let’s grow old together <3 Uncle smiled when he read it.
