Malaysian Ball Guestbook

This was for our recent Malaysian Ball 2012 event where I got the opportunity to design their guest book that year. I was given the flexibility and freedom to do anything with some guidelines – colors: gold & black and should reflect the theme: unity is beauty. With a short duration to do so, I was pleased with how it turned out. The final guestbook was a collection of thumbprints of all the committee members of the Malaysian Society, held by a trishaw (an iconic form of transportation in Malaysia ) to represent unity.

A short project, for over 3-4 hours, was inspired by a post on Pinterest (below). On a side note, I would recommend going to Pinterest for daily doses of inspiration. Lots of creative ideas out in the sea!!

I’m terrible in sketching, let alone a trishaw- so I needed reference 😉

I tried tracing but it did not turn out clear enough, so ended up sketching something that looked close enough to be a trishaw 🙂

Outlined and wrote the text in gold

A beautiful event and definitely a night to remember
